adult ministry

At FBC there is something for everyone! Below you will find ways to connect and serve with us. If you have questions about any of our ministries and how you can serve in them, please contact us.

Mission Team

As a church we value the fact that all those who follow Christ have been given a mission - so we strive to help each person serve with the gifts God has given them. For almost two decades the Alpha course has been a major community outreach, seeing many people come to personal faith in Christ. Our Hands In Mission group meet every Monday and are involved in crafting goods and clothing that are sent to those in need. As a church we provide support to several mission partners that operate locally, nationally and internationally. Local mission support includes the Youth for Christ Upper Deck Centre and Camp Oneida. Our support aids missionaries working in other parts of the world working through Canadian Baptist Ministries (CBM) and other mission organizations.  Each year we have also provided generous support to those involved in short-term mission projects throughout the world.

The Alpha Course

Alpha is a series of interactive sessions exploring the basics of the Christian faith. Each session looks at a different question and is designed to create conversation. There is no pressure, no follow-up and no charge; it's just an open, informal and honest space to explore and discuss life's big questions together. Click Here for more details.

Prayer Ministry

Dedicated people meet regularly to pray for our church family, both needs and celebrations. Each Wednesday at 1pm our prayer group meets to pray at FBC. An e-mail prayer chain promptly connects intercessors advising them of immediate prayer requests.

Worship Ministry

At FBC we strive to create an atmosphere where people of all generations can gather to worship God. We do this through our worship teams, music ministry and other creative expressions of worship. We are so pleased to have several skilled worship teams that lead worship each Sunday.

Fellowship Ministry

Community is created through sharing times of fellowship with one another. From church celebration meals to potlucks, after service coffee times on Sundays to special receptions, including funeral lunches, a sense of friendship and family grows as we share time together. Meals are also offered to families in need, bereavement or while recovering from surgery or illness.

Discipleship Ministry

Life Groups allow opportunities for discipleship for people of all ages, developing relationships and encouraging people to grow in their Christian faith at whatever stage they find themselves. Our Discipleship ministry offers numerous opportunities to connect and grow with others through Bible study or Christian book studies. Every September and January new opportunities are given for everyone to connect with a small group. We also offer a Monthly Men's Breakfast, Women's Days and special seminars that provide opportunities for us to connect with God and one another.

Care Ministry

Giving care, attention and prayer to the people who frequent our church is achieved practically by lending a helping hand when needed: visiting nursing homes, hospital patients and shut ins. Seniors’ luncheons and trips for seniors also provide times of fellowship and community.
